Damask Divas Blog Hop: Scaredy Cat

Hello,

Welcome to the Damask Divas Blog Hop!
If you came from Mandy's Blog, you are in the right place.  If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas Blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

Scaredy Cat is great for Halloween! I'm not really a Halloween person, but I love owls and pumpkins...so I created a "party owl" card.
I made the card using a couple of the patterned papers from the Scaredy Cat paper packet. I also used the August Stamp of the Month - What a Hoot.

Supplies:
Scaredy Cat paper packet
black enamel stars from Scaredy Cat Assortment
What a Hoot (retired)
Copic Markers (CTMH has similar ones - Shin-Han Touch Twin Markers)
Glitz Glitter gel (retired)

Your next stop is Cydney's Blog...hope you enjoy our Blog Hop!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Technique: Because I'm...HAPPY Sugar Coated Birds Card

Hello,
Sharing a technique today that will make your cards sparkle! =)
You've probably seen it before, or done it yourself...but just thought I would inspire you to create something this week! Ready?

The card pattern is from Wishes Card Confidence Program book (CTMH)...sketches are great for when you don't feel like "thinking"! =)
And the technique:
I stamped the birds and colored them with watercolor pencils. Then I spread glue (Zig 2-Way Glue Pen-jumbo tip) on the panel and sprinkled glitter (diamond, crystal...any translucent one, that allows you to see through).
The photo doesn't do it justice...but I guarantee it looks pretty!

Supplies:
CTMH Stamps Happy Birds (C1600)
patterned paper (MME)
watercolor pencil
paintbrush
glitter

Challenges:
1. H2H Challenge: Inspired by...a Song (Pharrell Williams' Happy - my boys love that song!)
2. WAW #146: Anything Goes
3. SSS Wed Challenge: Back to School

C1600 Happy Birds (CTMH)
VersaMark ink pad
embossing pen (the stems and leaves are hand-drawn)
White, Clear and Distress Green embossing powder
heat gun
white pigment ink pad
sponge daubers
colored pencils
Copic Markers
washi tape

I'm also entering this card in:
2. WAW #146: Anything Goes
3. SSS Mon Challenge: Witch Craft (OK...so, I'm not into witches, but I love kraft! My challenge was to transform my kraft paper...and make it colorful!)

Hello Summer Card

This card is for a few challenges...

I cut a honeycomb overlay from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge (CTMH) and used it as a stencil. After the modeling paste dried, I used PearlEx Watercolor CD for some shimmer...but I must say it didn't work out exactly the way I wanted...so I had to add more colors using ink pads (I tapped some ink on my craft mat and added water, then colored with a paintbrush).
Finally, I added some stamped elements, the teal shimmer trim and some gold shimmer spritz.

Challenges:
1. MMMC #3: Stencils with Modeling Paste
2. Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Tropical Trip
3. SSS Mon Challenge: Anything Goes
4. WAW #146: Anything Goes
5. H2H Challenge: Inspired by...a Movie (500 days of Summer)
6. TMMC Challenge #2: {Summer}

Supplies:
C1595 Hello Summer (CTMH)
Artbooking Cricut cartridge (CTMH)
teal Shimmer Trim (CTMH)
Summer (Hero Arts)
Modeling Paste (Liquitex)
gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko)
Memento ink pads

Have a nice weekend!
