The Leaf Studio: The Card Concept

The Card Concept #63 {Love & Joy}

Hello, Kraftie Friends!!!

It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept - {Love & Joy}!

This will be my last card...I just need to take a break...I've been too sick lately, so just need to rest a bit! Or hibernate...'cause winter is coming! =)

I wanted to thank Leslie and my team mates for everything! It was an awesome year being a part of this DT!

OK, so here's the photo inspiration:

Feel free to use any of the styles of our team or better yet, share you own style by combining one or more of the styles. We want you to have fun and make a card in a style that you feel good about!

The styles are explained HERE.

*******************************

Here's my mixed media card, inspired by the colors and greenery:

I die cut the patterned paper and red panel, using Stitched Rectangles (The Stamps of Life).

I dry embossed the red panel, then rubbed VersaMark on and heat embossed it in gold.

I stamped some greenery in black on green cardstock, cut them out and added some color with fluorescent green colored pencil.

I stamped the frame and sentiment (CTMH) on light green cardstock, and heat embossed the sentiment in light green, then copper. I decorated the frame with Copic markers, gel pens and Liquid Pearl and adhered it on card with foam tape.

I added some more Liquid Pearl on greenery and red panel.

Here's a photo with flash to show the shine:

The Card Concept #61: Washi Meets...{Pretty In Pink}

Hello, Kraftie Friends!!!

It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept - {Pretty in Pink}!

Here's the gorgeous photo inspiration:

Feel free to use any of the styles of our team or better yet, share you own style by combining one or more of the styles. We want you to have fun and make a card in a style that you feel good about!

The styles are explained HERE.

*******************************

Here's my mixed media card, inspired by the typewriter and colors:

I tore a piece of patterned paper and adhered it on card...can you see some of the typewriters (or parts of it, anyway...)?

I trimmed a white panel and distressed the edges. I mixed All-Purpose Ink with water on my craft mat and smooshed the panel down, a coulpe of times. Happy with the result, I placed the panel on my table, put a sheet of dried wet wipe on and placed a book on top to flatten the panel. This gave my panel an interesting texture...maybe if you click on the photo, you might be able to see it...

After it dried, I embossed the panel, added washi tape (CTMH) and adhered on card.

I stamped typewriter (CTMH) twice and I cut the second generation image out. Then, I stamped the sentiment in brown.

I adhered it on card and added a flower with a sequins in the center.

Challenges:

1. House of Cards: Lots of Layers and/or Colors

2. Retarte #89: AGoes

The Card Concept #60: Chevron Pumpkin

Hello, Kraftie Friends!

Feel free to use any of the styles of our team or better yet, share you own style by combining one or more of the styles. We want you to have fun and make a card in a style that you feel good about!

The styles are explained HERE.

************************************

And here's my mixed media card, inspired by the chevron pumpkin and colors:

I started with an embossed panel that I die cut. I used Gel Sticks + water on a craft mat to watercolor it. I adhered a die cut doily (SU!), trimmed it and adhered the panel to the kraft card base.

I tied a sequined thread on the bottom.

I used a pumpkin digital stamp from QKR Stampede, cut it out and colored it using alcohol-based markers. I even drew some chevron pattern on it!

I stamped 3 flowers (Paper Sweeties) and colored them with Copic markers. I added some Dimensional Magic + glitter in the flowers' centers.

I die cut "Autumn" and watercolored the bottom with Gel Stick. I also added Dimensional Magic and sprinkled some glitter.

Finally, I arranged the elements on the card, using foam tape for the pumpkin.

I used my digital stamps (Ice Scream for Ice Cream) to create my background. I watercolored it in purple, using All-Purpose Ink (Imagine Crafts) and I colored some ice cream scoops with markers.

I added some washi tapes, a die cut doily (SU!) and sequined embroidery thread.

Here's my mixed media card, inspired by the colors and shapes:

I kept it pretty simple...I wanted to show off the Gel Press (Gel Press Printing Plate 6"x 6") printing...

I used pearlescent paints in pink, orange, and yellow for the background. I also used a stencil, a circle foam and stamps to create the design.

I stamped and heat embossed "orange slices" (CTMH) in neon green.

For the matted sentiment (CTMH), I colored it with neon colored pencils.

I was inspired by the colors and made a mixed media card for a kid...my son B that loves rainbow colors! =)

I stamped a brushstroke image (CTMH) 3 times, using 2 different colors (then 3) each time, to create the rainbow. Then, I heat embossed in Sparkles...

I ink smooshed the panel in blue, rounded the corners and inked the edges.
I hand drew the sun and cloud, cut them out and colored them with Distress and Copic markers.
I added some washi tape, the stamped sentiment (CTMH) and sequins.

And here's my mixed media card, inspired by some colors and the teacup with flower:

I embossed the background panel with Cuttlebug, gently inked it with VersaMark and heat embossed it in gold.
I didn't have a big teacup stamp, so I drew my own Flower Teacup, printed it and fussy cut it. I colored it with Copic markers and adhered it on with foam tape.
I printed flowers from Ann's Garden Digi Stamp Set, colored them with alcohol-based markers and cut them out. I placed them inside the teacup and also added a paper flower.
I stamped sentiment (CTMH) on a banner, adhered on card and added some dimensional paint.

I also added dimensional paint on the flower's center.
Finally, I brushed some diluted All-Puporse Ink (Imagine Crafts) on the bottom of the card.

Here's my mixed media card, inspired by the flowers and colors:

I kind of cheated...I used a pre-printed card, so a third of the work was done! =)

I added watercoloring and splatters (All-Purpose Ink/Imagine Crafts), plus more color using Copic and Distress Markers (Tim Holtz/Ranger) on the background.

I stamped several flower images, leaf and the butterfly (Altenew) in black, then cut them out.

I watercolored the flowers, colored the centers with Distress Marker and added Mod Podge Dimensional Magic Gold. The flower on the left had additional coloring with Fabrico marker (Imagine Crafts). I also colored the leaves with Fabrico marker.

I colored the butterfly with Copic markers and added Mod Podge Dimensional Magic Gold.

Finally, I adhered the flowers and leaves.

And I adhered the butterfly only on the body area, then the wings can be bent up a little.

2. Happy Little Stamper April Mixed Media Challenge: Wings
