French Dies {Fri}: Hello Mojo

Happy Friday, Kraftie Friends!

I've been playing with some new dies I bought and some sketch challenges...

I bought Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies (CUTplorations by STAMPlorations) and used in the card below with Club Scrap Succulents Digital Kit papers and stamps, sentiment stamp (CTMH) and some sequins:

My second card has a doily die from QuicKutz:

I die cut a printed paper from Club Scrap Color Me Happy and adhered it on a stamped background (Written Hearts - my design - available at Sonshine Stamp Co.).

I added some squares (Club Scrap Color Me Happy Digital Kit), an ink smooshed + stamped heart (that I hand cut), and a stamped heart (Written Hearts), with foam tape.

I adhered the panel on card base, added a sentiment (Clearly Besotted), washi tape border and sequins.

Guest DT Card for STAMPlorations: Butterfly Kisses Card

Hello, Kraftie Friends!

I'm back as a Guest Designer at STAMPlorations for the mid-month inspiration!!!

This month's Theme & Sketch Challenge is:

And here's the sketch:

You can use just the Theme, just the Sketch, or both! You'll have until the end of the month to play!

Here's my card, using STAMPlorations' digital stamp. I went Anything Goes (...although it looks like the sketch, if you flip and turn it...right?):

I printed the Butterfly Square stamp twice.

On the first square (bottom), I used Distress Stain and some alcohol-based markers to color it.

I fussy cut the 3 butterflies, from the 2nd square I printed, and used Distress Stain to color them.

I added them to the bottom square with foam tape, added some Dimensional Magic on the bodies and sprinkled some glitter on:

The background panel was dry embossed (with Cuttlebug), colored with Distress Stain and heat embossed with purple and silver powders. I added washi tape, black sequined-thread and hand-drew a border with a black pen.
Adhered it on card base and adhered the Butterfly square on card, once dry.

My Guest Designer Card for STAMPlorations' May Challenge: You're So Sweet Card

Hello, Kraftie Friends!

I'm so excited!!! I'm a Guest Designer at STAMPlorations!!!

This month's Theme & Sketch Challenge is:

And here's the sketch:

Here's my card, using STAMPlorations' digital stamps and the sketch:

I printed the digi stamp and sentiment on the green panel. I added the washi tape, ink splatters, colored the cupcakes (brown) and background square using Copic markers.

I printed extra images on white and yellow cardstock, and fussy cut the "frosting" and liners. I colored a liner (for the left) using red Copic marker.

I paper-pieced the liners and adhered the "frosting" with foam tape. I added some Dimensional Magic on "frosting" for some shine and more dimension:

And I had to add some sequins, too...

Big Top

Club Scrap Oct Artist Team Challenge - Quad Prints

Hello, Crafty Friends!

It's time for the Artist Team Challenge at Club Scrap!

This month, the artists were challenge to use text weight printed papers we lovingly refer to as "Quad Prints"...aren't they gorgeous?

Quad Prints are so pretty...they have a glossy finish! You can use them "as is" for quick projects:

Or you can "spice them up" a bit...

Here I added a stamp from Transformations Collection stamp set:

For the card below, I added 3 strips of the Quad Prints...

...added a "trim" and stamp from Transformations Borders & Backgrounds stamp set:

You can also stamp on them...

...here I used the stamps from Big Top Collection stamp set,

Big Top Borders & Backgrounds stamp set, Big Top Art Nouveau stamp set, plus patterned paper and Big Top Striped washi tape:

This is how I made my mark(s):

I stamped the octopus (I've been obsessed with them lately!) and colored it with Distress Ink.

I colored the white shimmer trim with Copic marker to give it a Ombre look.

I stamped the algae and colored them with a metallic silver marker.

{Thu} Video Tutorial

{Thu} Video Tutorial on Sat: You Giraffe me Crazy!!! Card

I was trying to post this on Thu, but YouTube and Blogger kept crashing on me...but here it is!

I made a video tutorial for Altenew's Video Challenge #1!

Here's my card:

It was inspired by mu husband...no, not because he "giraffe-s" me crazy!!! Because he's tall!!! =)
YouTube was "giraffe"-ing me crazy!

OK, enough puns!
Here's my video:

I used giraffe and sentiment from Geometric Menagerie (Altenew), white and clear embossing powders, VersaMark, gel sticks (aka Gelatos for kids), baby wipe (to blend), foam tape, black and white cardstocks.

Decorate to Celebrate DT Challenge #104: Piggy Banks' Tags

Hello, Crafty Friends!

It's time for Decorate to Celebrate! You can create anything 3-D.

Here's my project...I made tags for my sons' "Piggy Ball Jar Banks"...to celebrate their financial independence! =)

I found the lids at the dollar bins at Target and got 2 for my kids. The jars are from my mother-in-law. Since they are the same, I decided to identify them with tags...with my kids' initials. I know...B is not for Dog, and N is not for truck! =)

For the tags, I stamped and embossed a striped background in clear.
Using gel sticks (aka Gelatos for kids) in 2 different colors, I blended them with baby wipe.
I added some more stamping.
I stamped B and N, cut them out and adhered them with foam tape.
The dog is from Boys Will Be Boys Cricut cartridge and was colored with Copics.
The truck is CTMH...I stamped it twice, once in black and then green. I cut out the green truck and adhered with foam tape on the black image.
Finally, I attached them to the jars with baker's twine.

If you're still with me...
I showed the tags to my kids and I said to B:
"I used a dog because you love dogs, right?"
To which he replied:
"No, I don't love dogs anymore...I love planets!"

Planets it is...maybe next time!!!

{Thu} Technique

{Thu} Technique: Paper Piecing ADFD Bird Ride Celebrate Card

A quick card using paper piecing technique:

I printed ADFD Bird Ride on white cardstock and patterned paper, cut out the bird and hat, and pieced them.
I added the sentiment stamp (CTMH), colors with alcohol-based markers and washi tape.

Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog DT: {Reverse} Spotlight Technique Sketched Roses Card

Hello, Crafty Friends!!!

I have some exciting news to share today!!!

Kylie (owner of Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge Blog) invited me to join the fabulous Design Team for July-Dec 2015!

Here's my first project for Challenge #151: Anything Goes and I'm using a Sponsor's image (Sketchy Roses)...

I was going to make a card with the Spotlight technique, but the roses were too-cool-not-to-be-colored that I decided to do a {Reverse} Spotlight technique instead!!!

I printed the image twice and cut out a little tag from one of them. I inked the tag and added a little black bow.

After I colored the card with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink and Tsukineko's Walnut Ink, and splattered some ink, I added the little tag with foam tape.

I have to admit I got a smudge on the top...if you didn't notice, ignore what you just read! =)

But I "don't even know" how I got it "dirty"...I blame my inky fingers...so, here's a tip: wash your hands before touching your finished card, if you're messing with Distress Inks! =)

Maybe I'm the only one who didn't learn that lesson yet...

Butterflies were cut out and adhered with foam tape.
