DIY Planner Inserts using Club Scrap's Digital Kits + a Card

Hello, Kraftie Friends!

I have lots of planners, although I don't post them a lot...
But here's how I made some inserts using Club Scrap's Digital Kits and my The Happy Planner BIG Punch:

I printed some images from Succulents and Color Me Happy Collections on white cardstock, trimmed them to fit my Mini Happy Planner, leaving an extra 0.5" margin on the left (for the slots).
I backed it with Decorative Adhesive Vinyl Covering and trimmed the excess off.
Then, I punched the slots with The Happy Planner BIG Punch.

Here's how they look like in the Mini Happy Planner...

You can see the decorative vinyl in the photo below:

Optional: Instead of the decorative vinyl, you could cover both sides with clear vinyl covering.

And before you go, I also made a quick card:

I printed the panel (Succulents Digital Kit), die cut it and adhered it on green card base.
I added a round embellishment with foam tape and some fibers.

French Dies {Fri}: Hello Mojo

Happy Friday, Kraftie Friends!

I've been playing with some new dies I bought and some sketch challenges...

I bought Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies (CUTplorations by STAMPlorations) and used in the card below with Club Scrap Succulents Digital Kit papers and stamps, sentiment stamp (CTMH) and some sequins:

My second card has a doily die from QuicKutz:

I die cut a printed paper from Club Scrap Color Me Happy and adhered it on a stamped background (Written Hearts - my design - available at Sonshine Stamp Co.).

I added some squares (Club Scrap Color Me Happy Digital Kit), an ink smooshed + stamped heart (that I hand cut), and a stamped heart (Written Hearts), with foam tape.

I adhered the panel on card base, added a sentiment (Clearly Besotted), washi tape border and sequins.

Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge Blog Hop

The Artist Team at Club Scrap was challenged this month to create projects with Batik: Real or Faux Batik Techniques.

I tried a few techniques and I also have a video below...

Technique #1: Using Gel Press + Pearlescent Paints + Stencils

I printed the Dahlias (Dahlia Lite Stencil) on cardstock using pearlescent blue and purple paints. After cleaning the Gel Press, I printed pearlescent yellow on.

After die cutting the panel, I stenciled the leaves using Distress Stain.

The Dragonfly (Color Me Happy Jumbo unmounted stamp) was done using Technique #2 - Heat Embossing + Distress Stains:

After coloring the embossed dragonfly, I added some Dimensional Magic on the wings and adhered it on card with foam tape.

I added a sentiment from the Color Me Happy Digital Kit.

Technique #2: Heat Embossing + Distress Stains

Since I used a printed paper (Shades of Winter Ivory Pattern), I decided to heat emboss the image (Color Me Happy Jumbo unmounted stamp) in white, instead of clear.

I colored the image using Distress Stains and let dry.

I thought it was cool that you can still see the pattern from the paper...adding even more texture to the project!

I cut the image out and adhered on die cut panel with foam tapes. I used sea blue card base (from Boardwalk Collection).

Optional: You could heat emboss your image in clear ep and after coloring it, you could use an iron to remove the embossing (I place newspaper or paper towel on flat surface, embossed image face down, iron on back side until embossing powder is all melted).

Technique #3: Stencils + Distress Stains

The Dahlias (Dahlia Lite Stencil) were printed using Gel Press + Paints (Technique #1), but you could use daubers, stipple brushes or blender tools to add colors.

Then, I used Distress Stain + water + brush to watercolor the paper, leaving a "white" border around the petals.

Then, stencil the leaves with the Distress Stain dauber.

For this card, I die cut the panel and added Sunflowers Washi Tape border.

I die cut the flower (from silver glitter and gelatin printed blue paper), doodled some designs with Silver Paint Pen and added a Color Me Happy Metallic Dot Sticker in the center.

I cut out the dragonflies borders from one of the printed papers and adhered it on the Teal cardstock.
After I matted the photos (taken while I was on vacation in Illinois), I layered them and partially tucked some under the cutout.
I stamped the dragonfly and flowers (Color Me Happy Art Nouveau unmounted stamps) with black ink, and outlined some details with the Silver Paint Pen.

I stamped the sun (Color Me Happy Art Nouveau unmounted stamps) on yellow cardstock twice and cut them out, the whole sun and just the inner circle.
I colored parts of the sun with a yellow Copic marker and doodled with the Silver Paint Pen. I adhered the inner circle on sun with foam tape and added to the page.

I added some Color Me Happy Embellishment Pack Metallic Dot Stickers.
Then, I decided to add some dots on the cutout border, using the Silver Paint Pen.
Finally, I added some Dimensional Magic on the Dragonflies bodies and let dry.

And last, but not the least...a 2-page layout! The colors and City theme were inspired by ARTastic Jan Challenge:

First, I made my own "patterned" paper, using Color Me Happy Dragonfly Masking Stencil and spraying ColorShine Teal on Blue cardstock. I masked and sprayed in 3 different areas and let dry...

Then, I cut out printed papers (for the background and some flowers/leaves) and some Embellishment Cutaparts (from the Color Me Happy Deluxe Kit), matted some photos (with plain and printed papers) and started layering...

I added twine (from my stash) on the Embellishment Cutapart Border. I also stamped NY (CTMH) and wrote Nov 2016 with the Silver Paint Pen. I added a piece of patterned paper under one of the photos and drew dots on it. After adhering the flowers down, I added Color Me Happy Embellishment Pack Metallic Dot Stickers to the flowers' centers.

{Tue} Technique: Making Leaves with Ribbon

Hello, Kraftie Friends!!!

This weather is driving me crazy...cold and now rainy...so I decided to make a 12 x 12 scrapbook page with happy colors, with photos celebrating C's wedding:

Papers are from Color Me Happy Collection (Club Scrap)...they are so pretty with those silver designs!
I also made some handmade flowers, using a Sizzix die and Color Me Happy Metallic Dot Stickers:

I cut out some leaves and a flower from a printed paper and layered them behind the handmade flowers...

And I added some leaves, using the green ribbon from Color Me Happy Fibers...I even made a quick video (below) showing how I folded the ribbon leaves:

{Sun} Sweets: Dragonfly Card

Happy Sunday, Kraftie Friends!

I was able to make a couple of cards last week, using new goodies...and today, I'm sharing one that's a bit more masculine...guys can dance with dragonflies, right? =)

I printed some elements out (Color Me Happy Digital Kit- Club Scrap), trimmed and inked the edges.

After layering, I added some stamping (Color Me Happy Art Nouveau unmounted stamps - Club Scrap).

I wanted to add more embellishments, but didn't...'cause then it would get too girly! =)

Choose to Shine Card - MojoMonday Sketch

Hello, Kraftie Friends!!!

A card for MojoMonday...it's so cold here that I needed some help creating!!!
Nothing better than starting with a cool sketch...

Then, you add some Digital Goodies (Color Me Happy Digital Kit- Club Scrap) and some stamps (Color Me Happy Art Nouveau unmounted stamps - Club Scrap and cross - CTMH)...and a little sunshine!
I printed and cut out the sun, and adhered it on card with foam tape.
