CS Artist Team Challenge/ Blog Hop: Butterflies and Flowers
Monday, April 25, 2016
Hello, Kraftie Friends!
Welcome to Club Scrap's Artist Team Challenge + Blog Hop!
This month, the DT team was challenged to create handmade flowers and butterflies - my favorite embellishments! =)
If you came from Debbie's Blog, you're in the right place!
Your next stop is Josette's Blog!
If you'd like to start from the top, go to Karen's Post at Club Scrap's Blog!
My first project...I altered a plain notebook, using Club Scrap's Dahlia Collection patterned papers and my handmade flowers and die-cut butterflies:
layered flowers with Dahlia Embellishment Felt Flower Buttons:
How-To make Layered Flowers:
1. Punch out or die cut different shapes and sizes of flowers shapes (I used my Cricut machine). Optional: ink the edges for more dimension.
2. "Crunch" them up (Optional: spray some water and let dry)
3. Shape the petals. For these flowers, I folded the petals in half...
4. Adhere the shapes
5. Use Dahlia Embellishment Felt Flower Buttons, pearls, buttons, gemstones, etc...for the centers
My second project:
You could use stamps to create your own flowers and butterflies...I used the gingko stamp (Club Scrap Transformations Collection Unmounted Rubber), fussy cut them out and embellished them for the cards...
Cards #1- Stamped "Flower", pre-made flower colored with Copic marker and Dahlia Embellishment Felt Flower Button with fiber:
Card #2 - Stamped "Butterfly", layered with die cut butterflies (embellished with Dahlia White Jewel Dazzles), rolled rose (Cricut cut) with glitter:
This would be the end of the hop...don't forget go to Josette's Blog!!!
But if you have more time...
...and hand-dying the edges of the flowers:
Just dilute some paint (All-Purpose Ink - Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) with water, dip the petals in and let dry.
This scrapbook page is inspired by a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches April 15th 2016:
