Masculine Christmas Cards

Hello, Kraftie Friends!

Christmas is almost here...just a few more cards to share...

These are more masculine and also, in non-traditional colors, inspired by the Dec Technique Challenge at Club Scrap:

I've used scraps from different Club Scrap Collections like Moroccan Spice and Creative License, and Metallic Pearlescent Blue paper from Woven Strands...

Dies are The Stamps Of Life (Stitched Rectangles), Big Top Pearl Stickers and Shades of Winter Dazzles Snowflakes are Club Scrap.

It's hard to see, but the card above has metallic shine on the printed papers...

{Tue} Technique: What to do with White Raised Print Paper...

Hello, Kraftie Friends!!!

I love when I get White Raised Print papers from Club Scrap...the newest Shades of Winter Collection has one!

They are like clear or white heat embossed papers...here's a couple of ways you can use them...

1. As is...

I went for a monochromatic look on the first card. I used the White Raised Print paper die cut into a panel and added a bow (Shades of Winter Fibers).

On the background, I stamped several images (Shades of Winter Art Nouveau unmounted stamps) and heat embossed them in white. Then, I used an embossing folder (Cuttlebug - Snowflakes) to add even more texture:

2. Add color...

I just inked and blended with a mini ink pad (VersaMagic Night Sky):

Then, wiped it with a dry baby wipe:

I layered the panel with ribbon (Shades of Winter Fibers) and a handmade bow (with a cut out snowflake and glitter brad), and added another printed paper before adhering it to the card base.

This is not my usual scrapbook page...but long story short...

Little Grinch B (boy on the right) was cranky and angry and threw my laptop on the floor...my camera card was still in and it broke in half...

I couldn't save any picture or video...and I had a bunch of the Christmas Day pics and videos of the boys opening presents from relatives!!! Too bad...nobody got to see them!

Luckily, we took some with our cellphones...

Papers are from Big Top and Woven Strands Collection, washi tape and stamps are CTMH, stickers are Cosmo Cricket, and I used my sequins and Smash Book pen.

Here are some gift ideas...

Altered Stocking Holder:

I moved end of the last month and I'm still unpacking...while separating Christmas decorations, I "found" this plain gold stocking holder.

I used past Collections' papers - Moroccan Spice and Crewel & Unusual - tore and adhered them on the tree, using Mod Podge. I also applied Mod Podge on top to seal the paper.

Then, I added some embellishments from Moroccan Spice, like the medallion and sequins, to decorate my tree!

CD Holder - using Woven Strands Collection:

If you love taking pictures (like me), you could burn them into a CD and add a pretty package...here's the how-to:

1. Trim a printed paper to size 6.5" x 11". Using a scoring board, score it at 2.5" and 7.5". Rotate it 90 degrees and score it at 0.75" and 5.75". The CD will be in a 5" x 5" pocket:

2. Cut the 4 corners off, along the score lines. I also like to trim the flaps at an angle:

3. Use adhesive to assemble the CD Holder, but before you close the second flap...

4. Decorate the front of the CD Holder! I trimmed a printed paper to 4.5" x 4.5" and added a ribbon/bow. I chose Woven Strands Collection because of the greens! You could add some stamping or tags, and decorate it more, if desired! =)

5. Put the CD in and close the flap!

Bliss Card - Club Scrap Woven Strands

Hello and Happy Thursday!

I made a card using a sketch from Cardabilities Sketch #128 (but I missed the linky gadget deadline...) and stamps from Club Scrap (Woven Strands Collection).

Here's my card:

How-To:
I stenciled the circles (Twin Tags Circles Stencil) on green cardstock, using VersaMagic ink pad. I stamped a quote with VersaMark (don't know if you can see it, though...) and inked the edges in green.
I stamped the circle image, heat embossed it in silver, fussy cut it and inked the center. I stamped "Bliss", inked the edges in green and used white gel pen to soften the look. I added a flower (Prima) and a pearl in the center.
Before I adhered the panel to the card, I used the fiber that came in the Woven Strands Embellishment Pack. I was planning on using only a few strands...but when I pulled it apart, look what I got:

It was actually woven! I thought it was so cool! I placed them behind the panel and then, adhered the panel with foam dots.
