{Tue} Technique: Faux Patina + Inlaid Die-Cutting

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Hello, Kraftie Friends!

You can see a tutorial HERE (Anne Marie is using acrylic paints), create a project and link it up for a chance to win a Club Scrap Gift Certificate!

I decided to use Tim Holtz's Distress Stains, dry embossing and silver embossing powder...here's my card:

Here are some supplies I used (you can click on the images to enlarge):

I embossed CS May Kit's designer paper (Creative License) with a Gears embossing folder (The Paper Studio):

(And no...my hands are not that small! I ask my son B to be my hand model!)

Then, I applied Tim Holtz's Distress Stains (Ranger):

After that, I rubbed VersaMark on the paper (to ink the embossed areas) and heat embossed it in silver...sorry, no pics here, 'cause they were not focused...

I matted the panel on another panel and used a die "Happy" (Simon Says Stamp):

I didn't really work out the way I was hoping, but while I was trying to take the word die-cut off with tweezers...I peeled off the top layer of paper, leaving the white showing:

Since the idea was die-cutting a white paper and adhered it in there...I just peeled off the rest of the word...and adhered the panel on the card base.

I stamped a key (Club Scrap Creative License Jumbo unmounted stamps), fussy cut it and colored with gold gel pen.
I stamped 3 cars (CS Creative License Art Nouveau unmounted stamps), colored them with Copic markers, applied Dimensional Magic, let dry and fussy cut them. Finally, I adhered them on the card.
